BRICS Business Council

Responsible Fisheries Alliance (RFA)

The Responsible Fisheries Alliance is a non-profit body made up of like-minded organisations working together to ensure that healthy marine ecosystems underpin a robust seafood industry in southern Africa.

South African Maritime Safety Authority ( SAMSA)

Promotes South Africa's maritime interests and development and position the country as an international Maritime Centre while ensuring maritime safety, health and environmental protection.

University of Cape Town - Marine Resource Assessment and Management Group (MARAM)

Primarily concerned with quantitative studies related to scientific recommendations for conservation measures governing the utilisation of South African and some other of the world's renewable marine resources

Rhodes University - Department of Ichthyology and Fisheries Science

The Rhodes University Department of Ichthyology and Fisheries Science (DIFS) is a leading African academic institution supporting the sustainable utilisation and study of fish and fisheries through teaching and training of students, conducting research and providing service support.

University of the Western Cape - Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS)

PLAAS does research, policy engagement, teaching and training about the dynamics of chronic poverty and structural inequality in Southern Africa, with a particular emphasis on the key role of restructuring and contesting land holding and agro-food systems in the subcontinent and beyond.
